Position Title: HVAC Service Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure new HVAC systems, including brazing, connecting line sets, and refrigerant charging.
  • Set up piping systems, which encompass drain lines, p-traps, water lines, gas lines, valves, and actuators.
  • Install various components such as coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.
  • Conduct start-up, testing, and commissioning of rooftop units (RTUs), air handlers, variable air volume (VAV) systems, fan coil units, swamp coolers, and other commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Inspect lines, components, and connections for leaks, performing brazing and soldering as needed to rectify defective joints.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks, including vacuuming, cleaning, filter changes, and lubrication of equipment.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining similar commercial equipment, along with a valid Universal CFC certification.
  • Proficient in working with ladders, roofs, and attics.
  • Capable of operating cutting torches or welding equipment for metal fabrication.
  • Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, and both low and high voltage wiring.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision in isolated settings.
  • Knowledgeable in the safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary for all work assignments.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods and lift, move, and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevated heights.
  • Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection.
