Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Description
Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled Substance Use Disorder Counselor to join our team at the Madawaska Outpatient office. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for establishing strong relationships with individuals seeking substance use assessment and treatment interventions to begin their recovery process.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance use disorder treatment and be able to work collaboratively with referral sources and the community to provide dynamic interventions and advocate for access to community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate bio-psycho-social services that demonstrate respect to clients, their families, and the community.
- Offer co-occurring services to individuals as needed, demonstrating a service-focused treatment approach by creating individualized plans.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with providers and the community to continue cooperative relationships.
- Demonstrate integrity by providing case management functions to continue all services with excellence.
- Provide compassionate individual, group, and family counseling for clients, family, and the community.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 1 year of formal or life experience is required.
- CADC or LADC is required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
