Position Overview:
The Automotive Sales Consultant reports to the Sales Manager.

Role Summary:
The Automotive Sales Consultant is primarily accountable for the sale of vehicles while achieving gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. A professional demeanor is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess each customer's vehicle requirements by posing relevant inquiries and actively listening.
2. Showcase vehicles, including conducting test drives.
3. Properly introduce new clients to the Service department and relevant Service staff.
4. Deliver vehicles to clients, ensuring they comprehend the vehicle's operational features, warranty, and maintenance schedule, while fostering customer loyalty.
5. Maintain a follow-up system for owners that promotes repeat and referral business, contributing to overall customer satisfaction.
6. Stay updated on new products, features, accessories, and their advantages for customers.
7. Review monthly objectives, weekly activities, and daily plans with the Sales Manager.

8. Understand automotive terminology, keep informed about technological advancements in products, and effectively communicate this to customers.


9. Report any damage to vehicles or issues with inventory to the Sales Manager promptly.
10. Be knowledgeable about federal, state, and local regulations governing retail auto sales.
11. Complete all required training as directed by the supervisor.
12. Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
13. Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
None required.
Special Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Must meet minimum sales quotas as per facility standards. Proficient in personal computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software. Valid driver's license and state sales license are mandatory.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The work environment may occasionally be noisy. The role may require lifting materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Potential exposure to battery acid, gasoline, cleaning chemicals, or other hazardous materials commonly found in an automotive dealership.

There may also be occasional exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles.
