Job Title: HVAC BAS Controls Engineer- Automation Design- Lexington, KY

Join DeBra-Kuempel Inc., a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction and facilities services, as a HVAC BAS Controls Engineer- Automation Design- Lexington, KY. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing building automation systems, creating project submittals/shop drawings, and providing operational and technical support to field operations and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend project turnover meetings with the sales and project team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Design building automation systems and create project submittals/shop drawings using project plans and identifying gaps or ambiguity in the project.
  • Establish and maintain unique customer standards while working on design/build and plan/spec projects alike.
  • Develop project bill of materials and provide equipment logistics/support.
  • Mentor new employees and assist in their growth and development.
  • Select and order controllers and devices for projects.
  • Write control sequences and coordinate design intent with programmer.
  • Provide operational and technical support/direction to field operations and subcontractors.
  • Obtain field markups and revise the shop drawings with any changes for owner records.
  • Maintain backups of all project documentation including record drawings on Procore.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in a related engineering/technology field required, bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.
  • In lieu of engineering/technical degree, a combination of verifiable DDC specific training and two or more years of experience will be considered.
  • DDC or PLC design experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of low voltage electrical wiring.
  • Experience in engineering, design, or maintenance of HVAC systems.
  • Strong understanding of the fundamentals of commercial electrical, HVAC, and control theory.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and contract.
