- Key responsibilities of the role include:
o Executing and overseeing month-end closing processes, conducting analytical reviews, performing variance analysis, managing reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and addressing complex ad hoc inquiries.
Month-end closing tasks may encompass the preparation and/or evaluation of revenue forecasts, accruals, equity method investments, prepaid expenses, and regulatory deferral/amortization accounting.
o Calculating, analyzing, and documenting monthly activities with a comprehensive understanding of business performance.
o Preparing and reviewing financial statements (FERC and GAAP) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting and procedural standards.
o Extensive knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), practices, and procedures.
o Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, including experience with large datasets.
o Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
o Excellent organizational skills and capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
o Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
