Job Summary

Zelle Human Resources Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our accounting function, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, prepaids and accruals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process, including timely recording of journal entries, reconciliations and preparation of financial statements for the Bank and related entities.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, including appropriate internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with FDICIA.
  • Lead the accounting team and provide support, coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Prepare the Call Report and other regulatory reports as assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation of information for internal and external auditors, including the preparation of the fiscal year-end consolidated financial statements.
  • Perform a variety of accounting and financial control functions in conformance with established bank strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Review financial reports prepared for senior management and Board meetings.
  • Oversee holding company accounting and regulatory reporting.
  • Create the Bank's annual calendar year budget and forecasts.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the CFO to keep the CFO informed of critical accounting and financial reporting issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA required.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in public accounting or community banking preferred.
  • Requires broad knowledge of accounting principles and practices within the financial services industry.
  • Bank regulatory reporting experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to handle high volume workload, prioritize and function effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with people, both internally and with external customers and vendors.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills with a forward-looking focus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
