We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Therapeutic Recreation Director to join our team at Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing daily activity programs for our residents, as well as documenting resident assessments, progress notes, and care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Director of Recreation in planning and implementing daily activity programs for residents.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of resident needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless delivery of care and services.
- Document resident assessments, progress notes, and care plans in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new programs and services.
- Supervise and train recreation staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and vendors to enhance program offerings.
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation or a related field.
- State of CT Certification in Therapeutic Recreation or currently enrolled in the certification program (or eligible for Certification).
- Previous experience in Recreation field preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
