Position Summary: The Senior Vice President of Logistics Operations plays a pivotal role in the Fulfillment Managed Services Business Unit. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership and direction to operations teams to meet annual revenue targets and service goals.
- Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and best practices.
- Inspire and guide direct reports to achieve profitability targets and optimize financial performance.
- Assess and modify organizational structures to better serve customer and stakeholder needs.
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance employee safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Support talent acquisition and employee development initiatives, including succession planning for key roles.
- Drive the strategic direction of the Business Unit in alignment with long-term corporate objectives.
- Oversee operational initiatives aimed at business growth, financial stability, and efficiency improvements.
- Identify growth opportunities within the Business Unit and collaborate with commercial teams to realize these initiatives.
- Execute approved business and operational strategies, maintaining full accountability for administrative, financial, and sales functions.
- Encourage a collaborative team environment with open communication.
- Establish clear team objectives and hold members accountable for their performance.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and set appropriate deadlines.
- Monitor team performance and report on key metrics.
- Work closely with Human Resources to identify training needs and ensure professional development opportunities are available.
- Engage with team members to address feedback and resolve conflicts.
- Collaborate with leadership across the organization to drive synergies and efficiencies.
- Develop strategic plans to achieve objectives set by senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding Business Unit activities and performance.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- 5-10 years of progressive operations management experience in the logistics sector is essential, with a strong preference for experience in e-commerce and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale initiatives effectively.
- Proven experience in applying Continuous Improvement methodologies and standardizing processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams at all levels.
- Expertise in logistics and warehousing best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills for conveying the company's vision and strategic direction.
- Solid understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
- Experience in contract interpretation and customer negotiations.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and experience implementing safety programs in warehouse settings.
