Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Involvement Team Supervisor to join our team at the Oregon Department of Human Services. As a key member of our Child Welfare team, you will play a critical role in supporting the well-being and safety of Oregon's most vulnerable children and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and engage staff to ensure the successful implementation of Child Welfare programs and services.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on good social work practices, state and federal laws, and department policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in areas such as crisis management, substance use disorders, and the Juvenile Justice System.
  • Collaborate with community partners, children, and families to ensure effective service delivery and positive outcomes.
  • Make informed decisions about the level and type of services provided to client families.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field, with one year of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience in human services.
  • Or, bachelor's degree in an unrelated field, with completion of coursework equivalent to certification consistent with Oregon Caseworker Competency, and one year of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience in human services.
  • Or, associate degree, with three years of human services-related experience, including one year of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in Child Protective Services.
  • Experience with crisis management.
  • Experience working with clients dealing with substance use disorder.
  • Knowledge of the Juvenile Justice System and delinquency cases.
  • Practical experience in a court or legal setting, including familiarity with courtroom procedures, decorum, and protocols.
