Maintenance Technician Job Summary

Affinity Property Services Inc is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Highland Park Apartments. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the building is in accordance with all applicable building codes, ordinances, pool safety, fire codes, and emergency evacuation regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regularly scheduled inspections of all common areas, fixtures, plumbing, appliances, and pools/hot tubs (if applicable)
  • Ensure preventative repairs are done on a regular basis
  • Complete apartment turnovers within three days of vacancy
  • Communicate with Maintenance Supervisor and Property Manager on turnover schedule
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with sustaining inventory of tools, supplies, and materials
  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor with organizing and maintaining an orderly maintenance shop and storage areas
  • Being on-call for after-hour maintenance emergencies on a rotating schedule, and responding immediately
  • Completing repairs that may involve, electrical, plumbing, appliances, or general carpentry
  • Maintenance of pool/spa (if applicable)
Requirements:
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation
  • 1+ years of experience in multi-family maintenance
  • Possess your own hand tools
  • General knowledge of various maintenance functions included and not limited to groundskeeping and snow removal, painting, appliance repair, caulking, minor electrical, minor plumbing, pool maintenance (if applicable), HVAC, obtaining bids from vendors, ordering inventory
Work Environment:

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, approximately 90% inspecting property grounds, including apartments, building structure, landscaping, and signage which may require the ability to climb stairs, scaffolds, ladders and maneuver walkways. The remaining 10% will be spent in an office environment using a computer or tablet and phone.
