Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a B.S. degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, or a related discipline, along with 2-3 years of experience in food microbiology testing.
  • If lacking a Bachelor's degree, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in food microbiology.

Main Duties:

  • Prepare microbiological media for internal food testing purposes.
  • Ensure a well-maintained inventory of both prepared and commercially available microbiological media formats to facilitate testing.
  • Oversee the proper disposal of samples following results documentation.
  • Maintain records of autoclave operations related to the preparation and disposal of routine analyses.
  • Assist with the reception and analysis of food product samples.
  • Conduct microbiological testing on food ingredients, finished products, and environmental samples.
  • Perform plating for hygiene indicators and molecular testing for foodborne pathogens.
  • Support sample preparation and reception as necessary.
  • Interpret and review microbiological data.
  • It is essential that all candidates possess the necessary microbiology experience for this position.
  • While knowledge of food science is advantageous, the primary focus should be on microbiology expertise.
