Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Penn State Health. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals to our patients and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals, including entrees, sides, and desserts, using fresh ingredients and following established recipes.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared and presented in a clean and safe environment, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth food service operations and maintain a positive team environment.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to enhance the dining experience for our patients and customers.

Requirements:

  • Formal training as a cook or equivalent experience required.
  • One year of line cook experience in a restaurant or food service setting preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Math ability and planning skills required.
  • Ability to use formulas, charts, and tables to measure ingredients and prepare recipes.
