Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Penn State Health. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals to patients and retail customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook food to meet the dietary needs of patients and customers
• Deliver food to patients and customers in a timely and efficient manner
• Support the delivery of appetizing and healthy food options
• Collaborate with the food service team to ensure seamless meal delivery
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Requirements:

• Formal training as a cook required
• One year of line cook experience in a restaurant with a varied menu required
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple verbal and written instructions
• Math ability and planning skills required
• Ability to pass a written test and hands-on skills demonstration with a minimum score of 80%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a line cook in a hospital or nursing home preferred
