Job Summary

The City of New York seeks a skilled Domestic Violence Audit and Billing Specialist to join our Domestic Violence Services team. As a Domestic Violence Audit and Billing Specialist, you will play a critical role in processing payments and reimbursements to shelter providers, verifying shelter attendance records, and supporting documentation for 55 contracted domestic violence emergency shelter programs and transitional housing programs.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and verify accuracy of billing invoices for domestic violence shelter program providers.
  • Review daily attendance, transfers, and movement of residents in shelter, date payment ending (DPE) tracking system, safety transfers, requests and approvals of extensions, and payment of shelter for up to the maximum length of stay.
  • Evaluate referrals for extended shelter stays in HRA domestic violence Tier II transitional units.
  • Verify received information concerning client cases by phone, email, in person, and contacting third-party sources and other relevant sources to confirm accuracy of information.
Requirements

You must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year of administrative or supervisory experience. Experience in domestic violence services is highly desirable.

Work Environment

This position is located at 4 World Trade Center, New York, NY, and the regular working hours are 9:00am-5:00pm.
