About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Domestic Violence Audit and Billing Specialist to join our team at the City of New York. As a key member of our Shelter Operations Unit, you will play a crucial role in processing payments and reimbursements to shelter providers, verifying attendance records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review billing invoices for domestic violence shelter program providers, proofreading and verifying accuracy and validity.
  • Review daily attendance, transfers, and movement of residents in shelter, tracking payment endings and evaluating eligibility for extended stays.
  • Analyze case information and regulations to assess eligibility for extended shelter stays in HRA domestic violence Tier II transitional units.
  • Verify client information by phone, email, or in person, using agency systems to check financial data and supporting documentation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to shelter providers, responding to inquiries and resolving disputes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year in an administrative capacity or supervising staff.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with shelter providers and other stakeholders.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position located at 4 World Trade Center in New York City. The ideal candidate will be able to work 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $70,000-$90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
