Job Description:

The primary role of the Social Worker is to provide comprehensive services to clients impacted by intimate partner violence. This includes conducting intake assessments, assessing client needs, creating safety plans, and providing counseling services. The Social Worker will also engage in outreach efforts to build trust and awareness in the community, particularly in Brooklyn.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess client needs and develop individualized plans to address their concerns.
  • Provide crisis support and safety planning services to clients through the Family Violence Helpline.
  • Conduct intake assessments in the main office, satellite locations, and remotely.
  • Obtain necessary documentation to support client services.
  • Design safety plans with clients to ensure their well-being and safety.
  • Perform case management services, including assisting clients with applying for public assistance and other resources.
  • Provide information and referrals to clients regarding community resources.
  • Offer support and counseling services to clients in individual and group settings.
  • Determine clients' eligibility for financial assistance and complete applications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and database input in a timely manner.
  • Establish relationships with partner agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity when working with diverse client populations.
  • Collaborate with the Family Violence team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Manage a large caseload of clients while maintaining high-quality services.
  • Develop and implement educational workshops based on community needs.
  • Pursue opportunities for professional growth and development to enhance service delivery.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • Prior experience working with domestic violence victims.
  • Familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to travel to offices as determined by company administration and grants.
