Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to join our team in teaching American Sign Language (ASL) at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction and effectively engaging with and facilitating authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ASL courses at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse student needs
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in departmental and institutional activities, such as curriculum development and committee work
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning and support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to teaching ASL, or
  • Associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to teaching ASL, or
  • Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in ASL
