Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Noncredit English Instructor to join our team at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) courses to adult learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ESL courses to adult learners in a dynamic and engaging learning environment
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in ESL instruction
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or a related field
  • Valid California Community College Instructor Credential in English as a Second Language
  • Experience teaching ESL courses to adult learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and best practices in ESL instruction
  • Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning
