We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Programmer to join our team at Stratas Foods. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and creating all plant programmable control systems (PLC), assisting in the analysis of current programs, and managing all plant computer systems.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with current PLC and computer-related processes.
- Project manage, purchase, and supervise contractors for all projects to ensure timely completion within budget.
- Design and implement new programs, process controls, and computer-related systems.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department on preventative maintenance duties.
- Support the engineering department in developing new processes and cost reduction projects involving automation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations, and policies.
- Provide necessary safety training to contractors.
- Manage and maintain the current computer network system.
- Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
- Work with Corporate IT on upgrades or system modifications.
- Order and specify all hardware and software for all plant systems.
- Manage plant security relative to computer systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting or project implementation.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Plant management team or direct supervisor.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
Related Experience: 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Equipment/Software Skills: PLC Controls, Programmer Controls, Automation Controls, Industrial PC, Ladder Logic Programmer, RS Logix, Iconics, Microsoft Office.
Physical DemandsThis position requires employees to walk up stairs and be able to stand for long periods of time (2 to 4 hours at a time).
