About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Avalon Square, a vibrant and welcoming community of older adults. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality meals and dining experiences that meet the needs and preferences of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve attractive, nutritious, and palatable meals consistent with regulations and established policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure a high level of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with our dietary team to plan and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served in accordance with food safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a senior living community.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal food-handling regulations, including food service operations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.
