Position Summary:


Fairview Health Services is seeking a Surgical Services Coordinator to support the Operating Room at our healthcare facilities.


This role is designed for a flexible schedule, requiring availability every Sunday, with opportunities to take on additional shifts as needed.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional customer service via phone to patients, various Fairview departments, and other stakeholders.

Effectively communicate precise information regarding surgical operations in accordance with established protocols to facilitate daily activities in the operating room.

Initiate service requests for malfunctioning equipment.

Assist clients with fundamental inquiries related to additional surgical procedures and other relevant topics.

Accurately document and relay phone messages to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.

Maintain a courteous and supportive tone when interacting with callers.

Responsible for scheduling additional surgical procedures on a daily basis.

Utilize our electronic health record system to manage surgical scheduling.

Coordinate with all personnel involved in the preparation and execution of surgical procedures.

Ensure thorough communication with the charge nurse.

Address basic requests as assigned.

Assist in gathering necessary information, completing documentation, and performing other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

Required:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, front desk operations, or a related administrative role.

Strong communication skills, providing service in person, over the phone, and via email.

Ability to learn and navigate various computer systems effectively.

Preferred:
Experience with electronic medical record systems such as Epic or Excellion.

Background in healthcare settings.

Familiarity with medical terminology.
