Job Summary

The Education Specialist is a key member of the Albany Medical Center team, responsible for designing and implementing educational programs that support the development of high-performing staff. This role requires a strong understanding of clinical social work and nursing practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement orientation programs for new staff, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Design and deliver continuing education programs that meet the needs of nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them.
  • Represent the Education Department at organizational committee meetings, ensuring that the needs of nursing staff are represented.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in clinical social work and nursing practices, applying this knowledge to inform educational programs.
Requirements
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field, with a strong background in clinical social work and nursing practices.
  • Experience in case management, utilization review, and discharge planning, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
