Position Overview:

We're hiring a Help Desk Specialist Level 1 to join our team at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. As a member of our technically diverse team, you'll work alongside other Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals to provide IT Operations and Support to the FLETC.

The FLETC is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies, and we're looking for someone who can help us make data easily accessible to those who need it. Key Responsibilities:

  • Make data easily accessible to those who need it
  • Pay attention to customers' descriptions of computer problems
  • Ask questions to properly diagnose the problem
  • Walk customers through the recommended problem-solving steps
  • Set up or repair computer equipment and related devices
  • Train users to work with new computer hardware or software
  • Document changes, revisions, and problems
  • Provide other team members and managers with information

Requirements:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
  • 0-6 Months experience troubleshooting software and hardware in a customer service role
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prefer candidates with an associate degree with an emphasis on Information Technology such as Network Administration
  • Prefer Candidates with CompTIA Network+ or A+ Certification

Security Qualifications:

  • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
