Job Summary

The Laboratory Specimen Processor is a critical role in the Eurofins USA Clinical Diagnostics team, responsible for performing duties related to accessioning and data entry with a high degree of proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately process and label specimens for delivery to the proper area(s)
  • Utilize the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and/or other specimen tracking system to ensure accurate data entry
  • Examine samples for accuracy and other requirements, including sample type, stability, and volume
  • Make internal or external contact to resolve patient demographic issues or discrepancies
  • Complete correction requests as needed and maintain quality control and quality assurance records
  • Adhere to all Data Management policies and protocols, as well as quality and safety standards
  • Work closely with other lab associates to complete daily activities efficiently
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Specimen processing experience in a Clinical Laboratory setting or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ability to read, interpret, and comply with documents such as internal SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and company policies
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to interact effectively and work efficiently with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
  • High level of proficiency with PC-based software programs, strong database skills, and 1 year of data entry experience preferred
Working Conditions
  • Monday-Friday, 10:00pm-6:30am
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time as necessary in the laboratory
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment
