About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Relationship Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between our IT department and various business units across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology solutions with business objectives and strategic plans.
  • Work with leadership to plan new initiatives, evaluate proposals, and develop multi-year IT business capability roadmaps.
  • Partner with project and portfolio management to ensure a healthy and well-managed initiative portfolio.
  • Focus on IT business value and optimization, developing ideas and staying informed of new technologies, industry trends, and digital advances.
  • Participate in the IT annual budgeting and planning process for assigned business units and track IT spend.
  • Develop and manage relationships between IT and business units across the company.
  • Drive Service Level Agreement (SLA) negotiations to enhance value to business units.
  • Ensure that functional requirements are fully met by solutions.
  • Recognize, develop, and communicate complex business requirements, innovation, and awareness programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration, computer science, finance, or IT-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four to five years of job-related experience.
  • Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting.
  • Outstanding end customer/consumer relationship skills.
  • Solid understanding of IT finance assets and capabilities.
  • Ability to identify gaps and areas that need improvement.
  • Strong humility, listening, creativity, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) or Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) certification.
  • Experience with Atlassian suite (Jira, Jira Service Desk, Confluence).
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with procurement, asset management, and invoicing.
  • Experience with translating technical requirements to IT solutions/services.
  • Experience managing external vendor accounts, including license renewals/support and billing.
