We are seeking an experienced Content Manager Associate Principal to join our team at FINRA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance of test questions and content outlines for securities industry/client qualification examinations. You will also conduct content committee meetings and manage the performance and productivity of committee members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exam Management and Item Bank Maintenance
    • Maintain and augment item banks for securities industry/client qualification examinations by analyzing the performance of current and pretest test items, assessing the need for new items, and collaborating with the Measurement Services Unit (MSU) when appropriate.
    • Edit new items submitted by committee members and bank items to conform with FINRA/client style guide.
  • Committee Management
    • Manage assigned qualification exam committee membership to ensure proper composition and monitor the performance, productivity, and attendance of committee members.
    • Recruit new committee members when necessary and retire current committee members.
  • Item Development
    • Lead committee activities and conversations to ensure that items meet basic standards during committee meetings.
    • Use standard item statistics to guide analysis and decisions on whether to keep, edit, or delete an item.
  • Content Outline Maintenance and Job Analyses
    • Make updates to content outline as necessary and publish updated content outline on a timely basis.
    • Assist with job analysis studies under the direction of more senior staff, as assigned.
  • Securities and Financial Industry Knowledge
    • Research, monitor, and evaluate the effect of FINRA, SEC, and other industry entity rule changes, new securities products, and industry best practices on exam programs and make necessary changes to content outlines and bank items.
  • Maintenance and Enhancement of Item Bank System
    • Participate in the development of system requirements and conduct user acceptance testing for in-house developed item bank and authoring system.
  • Management of Inquiries
    • Respond to exam-related inquiries from other FINRA staff, FINRA members, exam candidates, and others in a prompt, appropriate, and accurate manner.
  • Special Projects and Department Initiatives
    • Assist with special projects and support department initiatives as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years securities/financial industry and/or content development experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication skills (both oral and written) are essential to effectively manage relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders/constituents with varying (often conflicting) interests.
    • Must be proficient with all standard office software.
    • Ability to work independently and produce high-quality work product that requires a great attention to detail.
    • Quantitative skills are desirable.
    • Ability to learn and use databases is desirable.
    • Project management skills are desirable.
  • Working Conditions
    • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
    • Some travel required (20%).
Compensation

For work performed in CA, CO, HI, MN, VT, IL, Jersey City, NJ, NY, NY, MD, Washington DC, and WA, the proposed salary range is as follows:

CA: Minimum Salary $91,500, Maximum Salary $170,900

CO/HI/MN/VT*: Minimum Salary $79,500, Maximum Salary $142,300

IL*: Minimum Salary $87,500, Maximum Salary $156,600

Jersey City, NJ/NY, NY: Minimum Salary $95,400, Maximum Salary $170,900

MD/Washington, DC: Minimum Salary $91,500, Maximum Salary $163,700

WA: Minimum Salary $79,500, Maximum Salary $163,700

Candidates can expect salary offers that range from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. FINRA provides full pay ranges so that the candidate can consider their growth potential while at FINRA.
