Position Overview:
The cashier/customer service associate plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers.
  • Show respect and courtesy to all team members, vendors, and customers.
  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and approachable manner. Address inquiries and resolve issues effectively. Provide recommendations for solutions and suggest additional sales when suitable.
  • Utilize open-ended questions to ensure customers receive appropriate guidance from department leaders. Follow up as necessary.
  • Convey customer needs through intercom and two-way radios. Inform the yard team when customers are exiting. Supply customers with the necessary loading documentation.
  • Facilitate quick and efficient checkout transactions. Handle customer orders, invoices, and returns in accordance with established store protocols.
  • Perform various customer service tasks, including but not limited to; key cutting, propane filling, and assisting with rental transactions.
  • Engage in essential tasks such as answering phone calls, restocking and organizing inventory around the register area, maintaining cleanliness in the front outdoor space, and ensuring promotional signage is current.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and price adjustments as required.
  • Maintain store cleanliness as needed, including cleaning common areas, removing trash, sweeping parking lots and sidewalks, and snow removal.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding customer order statuses and product inquiries.
  • Report service failures or customer concerns to the company promptly.
  • Open and close the store as assigned.
  • Prioritize customer care while managing your responsibilities.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining situational awareness and reporting any safety concerns to management.
  • Support other departments as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Role: This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The employee will primarily work inside the store, where the noise level is typically low.

Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate must be capable of fulfilling all physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
Position Type and Expected Hours:
This is a part-time role, requiring availability for days, evenings, and weekends as needed, totaling 15-20 hours per week.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience is preferred.
