Position Overview:
The cashier/customer service associate plays a vital role in delivering outstanding service to our clientele.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers.
  • Maintain a respectful and courteous attitude towards all team members, vendors, and customers.

  • Utilize open-ended questions to ensure customers receive appropriate assistance from department heads. Follow up as necessary.
  • Communicate customer needs using intercom and two-way radios. Notify the yard team when customers are approaching. Ensure customers receive the correct loading paperwork.
  • Facilitate quick and efficient checkout transactions. Process customer orders, invoices, and returns in accordance with established store policies.
  • Perform various customer service tasks, including but not limited to cutting keys, filling propane, and assisting with rental transactions.
  • Handle essential tasks such as answering phone calls, restocking and organizing inventory around the register area, maintaining cleanliness in the front outdoor area, and keeping promotional signage current.
  • Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and price updates as needed.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, including common areas, trash removal, parking lot and sidewalk upkeep, and snow removal.
  • Provide accurate and timely information regarding customer order status and product knowledge inquiries.
  • Report service failures or customer concerns to the company promptly.
  • Open and close the store as assigned.
  • Prioritize customer care while managing your designated area.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining situational awareness and reporting any safety issues to management.
  • Support other departments as required.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Role: This position does not involve direct supervision of others.

Work Environment: The employee will primarily work inside the store, where the noise level is typically low.

Physical Demands:

  • Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
Position Type and Hours:
This is a part-time role, requiring availability for days, evenings, and weekends, with an expected commitment of 15-20 hours per week.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience preferred.
