Role Summary: The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing intricate machinery and process challenges. This position is responsible for executing urgent repairs on equipment efficiently and safely, while effectively prioritizing tasks to maintain operational continuity.

Language Proficiency: English fluency is mandatory; Spanish is advantageous.

Travel Requirements: None.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment at all times.
  • Oversee and sustain machinery, equipment, and processes to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring safe and effective maintenance of all systems.
  • Conduct daily inspections and record equipment performance, optimizing efficiency through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Complete maintenance tasks generated through the CMMS, focusing on proactive measures to reduce downtime.
  • Identify and address root causes of equipment failures, delivering lasting solutions to recurring issues.
  • Offer guidance, leadership, and training to team members as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge bases to boost departmental efficiency.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to the area of work, including food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Consistently meet production targets while minimizing product loss and downtime.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and foster good relationships with colleagues and management.
  • Fulfill all other assigned duties as required.
  • Work scheduled shifts, including weekends and extended hours as necessary.
  • Exhibit regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and possess the physical stamina to perform job functions.
  • Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing or a related field, with familiarity in CMMS and knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems.
  • Strong technical aptitude, including basic electrical knowledge and proficiency with mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, attention to detail, and mathematical skills, with the ability to learn and apply policies and procedures.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow direction and collaborate with others.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed and a strong commitment to performance and attendance.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance is required.
  • 6 months of experience in a bottling facility is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The employee regularly twists or bends at the waist and may occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and industrial equipment. The employee may be exposed to varying indoor temperatures and occasionally to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud.
