General Manager Job Description

At District Taco, we're looking for a seasoned General Manager to lead our restaurant team. As a key member of our management team, you'll be responsible for creating a positive guest experience, ensuring high-quality food and service, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain quality standards by monitoring staff and sampling products
  • Enforce safe food handling practices and HACCP protocols
  • Ensure restaurant opening and closing procedures are followed
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and staff
  • Assess team morale and find ways to improve wellbeing
  • Monitor labor and COGs information, and review budget data
  • Create weekly schedules based on sales data
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop new team members
  • Disciplinary action and termination of team members
  • Follow procedures for filing paperwork
  • Ensure team members receive proper training and guidance
  • Communicate clear expectations and guide staff to meet goals
  • Consult with Regional Manager on management staff additions or terminations
  • Acknowledge positive and negative behavior through performance reviews and disciplinary action
  • Manage team member access to ordering, inventory, alarms, emails, and keys
  • Review payroll information and monitor hourly labor percentage
  • Reconcile invoices and surveil current inventory
  • Maintain storage area organization to ensure rotation of goods
  • Assess needs and order supplies for the restaurant
  • Control alcohol sales to ensure proper handling guidelines
  • Coordinate cash deposits and manage petty cash account
  • Examine equipment and request repairs or replacement as needed
  • Propose solutions to Regional Manager for complex problems
  • Resolve customer service issues
Requirements:
  • Previous restaurant General Manager experience (3 years)
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills
  • High level of motivation and self-responsibility
  • Ability to apply and maintain standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and personal hygiene
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding customer service skills
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for 8 consecutive hours
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis
