Job Title: Director of Nursing

Tuerk House is a leading recovery center in Maryland, recognized by Newsweek as one of "America's Best Addiction Treatment Centers" for two consecutive years. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Nursing to join our team.

Job Summary

The Director of Nursing assumes responsibility for the delivery of nursing services, policies, procedures, and practices at Tuerk House. This role requires a strong leader who can oversee the nursing department, ensure quality care, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective nursing policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the scheduling of nursing staff to ensure 24/7 coverage.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursing care delivered to patients.
  • Represent nursing in management committees and ensure compliance with professional nursing standards.
  • Develop and manage nursing schedules.
  • Assume responsibility for Joint Commission Standards and ensure compliance.
  • Ensure nursing staff are competent to perform their duties.
  • Oversee risk management for clinical and program staff.
  • Facilitate tracking, data collection, and reporting on Joint Commission standards.
  • Develop and maintain evidence of compliance with standards.
  • Develop and facilitate baseline organizational assessments.
  • Detail specific actions needed to bring the organization into full compliance with Joint Commission standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Master Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current licensure and registration by the Maryland Board of Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse required.
  • Five to Eight years of professional nursing experience in residential drug treatment or a relevant setting required.
  • Experience working with individuals suffering from mental disorders and substance abuse preferred.
  • Must have Five years management experience, preferably at the director level or above, and minimum of five years nursing experience.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of facility, State of Maryland, federal laws and regulations, and Joint Commission Standards.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing residential care management, and personnel management, practices, policies and procedures pertaining to long term care administration.
  • Must maintain BLS certification and yearly PPD.
  • Must demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with peer manager, staff, clients and their families.
