Job Summary

The Clinical Educator II is a key member of the Alameda Health System team, responsible for developing and implementing educational programs that enhance the skills and competencies of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel. This role involves collaborating with organizational leaders to assess, plan, and implement educational programs that meet regulatory compliance and professional development needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain accurate education files, including orientation programs, annual skills competencies, and learning management system records.
  2. Assist with regulatory hospital surveys and develop corrective action plans as needed.
  3. Organize and present educational in-services on new equipment, policies, procedures, and regulatory updates.
  4. Develop monthly and annual education calendars based on identified educational needs.
  5. Collect and assess data to determine comprehensive education programs for assigned units/clinics.
  6. Develop competency-based hospital orientation programs and assist with department of hire orientation.
  7. Evaluate outcomes of educational programs and utilize findings for continued improvement.
  8. Integrate relevant research outcomes into nursing professional development practice.
  9. Participate in quality performance improvement activities and strategic planning.
Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications, is qualifying. Preferred education includes a Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, Public Health, Public Policy, and/or Education. Required education includes a Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required experience includes three years of relevant nursing experience in an acute care setting for external hires and one year of experience with orientation and education of nursing staff in a clinical setting.
