Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our team at Alameda Health System. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will provide high-quality patient care, working under general supervision to administer medications, treatments, and other essential patient care activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Accompany, assist, and represent the needs of patients to other healthcare providers.
- Provide accurate and respectful care with regards to medication administration, skin and wound care, ADLs, and other essential patient care activities.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify nursing care plans, preparing required records and reports.
- Gather and assess information about patients to meet their nursing needs, assisting and consulting with physicians in the performance of procedures and diagnostic tests.
- May provide oversight to staff who monitor telemetry systems, alerting primary nurses of changes in underlying rhythms and life-threatening arrhythmias.
- Organize, supervise, and accept responsibility for the quality of care provided to patients by coworkers for a given work period.
- Participate in promoting a healthful, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and families, setting up and controlling the environment essential for infection control.
- Participate in the implementation of patient care standards, infection control standards, and quality assurance criteria, assisting with conducting studies and participating in unit and other meetings.
- Provide and evaluate patient care established standards and criteria in conformity with the nursing care plan, monitoring patients for significant and critical changes and initiating procedures as required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum six months experience as a Clinical Nurse I with AHS or the equivalent of one year full-time recent experience at a comparable level in a minimum 100-bed hospital or in the area of specialty.
- Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required.
- Preferred certifications include TNCC, CCRN, ACLS, BLS, and others as specified by the facility or unit/department specialty.
