Job Summary

The Histotechnologist II is responsible for performing technical histology tasks and procedures, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, immunofluorescence, accessioning, equipment maintenance, quality control, immunohistochemistry, inventory management, supply ordering, data collection, and slide and FFPE block filing and retrieval.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform histology tasks and procedures with high accuracy and attention to detail
  • Process and embed tissue samples for histopathological examination
  • Conduct microtomy, staining, and immunofluorescence procedures
  • Accomplish accessioning, equipment maintenance, and quality control tasks
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and collect data
  • Filing and retrieval of slides and FFPE blocks
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of experience as an histotechnologist
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Microtomy, sectioning, and embedding proficiency
  • Histotechnician or Histotechnology certification by A.S.C.P.
Working Conditions

The Histotechnologist II must be able to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. The position requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
