Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team at UC San Diego Health. As a Medical Assistant II, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication administration.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, procedures, and treatments.
  • Manage medical records, including charting and data entry.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, appointments, and follow-up care.
  • Perform various administrative tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining supplies.
Requirements
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification or completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within six months.
  • Previous relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, and universal precautions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Primary care experience.
  • Ambulatory care experience.
