Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Operations is responsible for the strategic planning, oversight, and evaluation of performance for various market programs, including Imaging, Pharmacy, Genetic Counseling, Laboratory, and Ambulatory Surgery Centers. This role requires collaboration with ancillary leadership within Sutter Health, serving as the administrative link between the Ambulatory CEO, medical staff, foundation, market, and Sutter Health System leadership. The Senior Vice President will hold accountability for market performance in these areas, encompassing financial management and strategic planning, as well as the integration of ancillary services into upcoming facilities. This position reports directly to the Ambulatory CEO.
Job Description:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field is required.
- A Master's degree in healthcare administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), Public Health (MPH), or a related advanced degree is preferred.
- Significant experience (typically 10+ years) in healthcare operations management, with a considerable portion in senior leadership roles.
- Demonstrated success in managing operational functions within a healthcare organization, including hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities.
- Experience in a non-profit healthcare environment is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the unique challenges and opportunities present in the non-profit sector.
- Experience overseeing multiple sites or facilities within a healthcare network.
- Proven ability to standardize operations and ensure consistency across various locations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the California managed care and healthcare industries, including the regulatory frameworks governing them.
- Knowledge of the regulatory environment applicable to non-profit organizations.
- Strong organizational, supervisory, and analytical skills necessary for managing daily operations of the division.
- A seasoned executive with exceptional management capabilities and a successful history of leading organizational change in complex settings.
- A strategic thinker and tactical executor who can translate concepts into actionable results and drive organizational improvement through performance outcomes.
- A deep commitment to the health plan's mission, the community, and its stakeholders.

Pay Range is $132.81 to $179.69 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
