Position Overview:


A Housekeeping Room Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional service by ensuring that guest rooms are immaculate and comfortable, thereby contributing to a positive overall impression of the establishment. The role of the housekeeper is vital to the hotel's reputation and operational success.

It is crucial that the housekeeping team demonstrates thoroughness and professionalism in executing their responsibilities while consistently meeting and upholding our high standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, demonstrating reliability and punctuality.
  • Adhere to the dress code and wear a nametag during shifts, ensuring a professional appearance.
  • Complete all required training and certifications related to company and brand standards promptly.
  • Greet guests warmly in public areas to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Address guest inquiries and requests promptly, being knowledgeable about all hotel amenities and services.
  • Report guest concerns and complaints in a courteous manner to guarantee guest satisfaction, maintaining professionalism aligned with hotel brand expectations.
  • Execute thorough cleaning that aligns with brand standards within designated timeframes.
  • Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure all guest room items are available and in accordance with brand guidelines.
  • Take initiative to prevent guest issues by inspecting work, identifying maintenance needs, and replenishing items as necessary.
  • Follow established health and safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Update the status of cleaned rooms on the assignment sheet and communicate any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Conserve energy by turning off lights when rooms are unoccupied, switching off televisions, and adjusting HVAC units seasonally. Report any water leaks immediately.
  • Notify the Supervisor of any room damages and document maintenance issues on work orders.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment at all times.
  • Assist in keeping other areas of the hotel clean and organized.
  • Report any accidents involving guests or personal injury to a supervisor without delay.
  • Restock housekeeping carts as directed by the supervisor.
  • Follow protocols for master key sign-out and ensure the security of assigned keys.
  • Identify and report items left behind by guests in accordance with the hotel's lost and found procedures.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Comply with timekeeping policies regarding clocking in/out for shifts, breaks, and meals.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Be familiar with and follow the hotel's emergency procedures.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Requirements:

  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, efficiency, and under time constraints.
  • Requires physical mobility and stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs. and carrying up to 20 lbs.
  • Frequently bend, reach, push, kneel, pivot, and grip items throughout the workday.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan ahead, and manage workload effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a cohesive team.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
