Position Overview

The Culinary Service Associate is responsible for preparing and delivering meals in accordance with established menus and portion control guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals while adhering to portion sizes as outlined by yield guides.

• Conducts cleaning tasks, including the sanitation of equipment and workspaces, as well as dish and pot washing.

• Brews coffee, operates beverage machines, and organizes hot and cold food stations.

• Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal health regulations regarding safe food handling practices.

• Follows all security protocols and guidelines specific to the client location.

• Receives and stores incoming supplies efficiently.

• Collects and prepares trays for dishwashing and assists in ware washing duties as needed.

• Organizes and stores utensils, dishes, glassware, and cookware.

• Participates in safety committees and adheres to safety protocols.

• Attends all required training sessions and in-service programs.

• Manages point-of-sale transactions and cash handling responsibilities if applicable.

Compensation:
$16.00/hour

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Completion of all mandated training by Whitsons is required.
  • Proficient in English to understand and execute job responsibilities.
  • Consistently presents a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Frequent sitting, walking, talking, and hearing are required in this role.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for handling objects, tools, or controls and reach with arms.
  • Majority of the workday involves standing and walking.
  • Capable of lifting or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Lifting while turning side to side may be necessary at times.

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The role is primarily performed in kitchen and serving areas, necessitating movement in and out of storage rooms and freezers. Exposure to extreme temperatures (both hot and cold) from cooking and refrigeration equipment is common. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to loud.
