Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to join our team at VITAS Healthcare. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing and executing business strategies, and leading a high-performing sales team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Business Strategies
    • Provide leadership and direction to the sales team to achieve targeted sales numbers and execute business goals and strategies.
    • Closely collaborate with the team and professional partners to ensure positive customer outcomes.
    • Develop and maintain professional business relationships with key stakeholders, including hospitals, physicians, post-acute care, and assisted living communities.
  • Lead and Develop the Sales Team
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to team members to develop their sales skills and techniques.
    • Travel with team members to coach, train, and develop relationships with customers.
    • Provide timely and specific coaching feedback to team members.
  • Set Expectations and Lead Accountability
    • Ensure successful territory achievement of targeted accounts by increasing market share and growth through planning and executing strategies.
    • Set consistent expectations and address adherence to standards.
    • Foster and coach the importance of account management and progression.
  • Collaborate with Internal Team Members
    • Work with internal stakeholders, including marketing, patient care, clinical, and compliance, to execute business strategies.
    • Identify areas where cross-functional team members can partner to enhance the sales process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a leadership capacity.
  • At least five years' experience in the healthcare/therapeutics, sales, or marketing field.
  • Proficiency in business analytics, including Excel and CRMs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing strategies and solutions to drive sales.
  • Prioritization and organization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team leader/member.
  • Understanding of collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop actionable plans.
  • Ability to prepare and execute product presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to write effective business plans and sales plans.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare trends and how they apply to the position.
  • Ability to lead a sales team in a positive and productive manner.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent required. Master's degree preferred.
