We are looking for a Technical Consultant to become a key member of our Customer Success Public Sector division. In this capacity, you will interact with clients after the sales process to craft software solutions utilizing the Appian platform. These applications are instrumental in facilitating digital transformation and enhancing competitive advantages. Your main duty will involve managing the complete project lifecycle, which includes defining, designing, developing, and deploying tailored software solutions using Appian's low-code platform for our commercial clientele. This role requires you to operate within an agile framework to comprehend client business processes and technical requirements, launch new relational data models, and create APIs for system integration. Additionally, you will work closely with client technical teams and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting client independence in building process applications.

To excel in this position, you should possess:

  • Proficiency in collaborating with clients to outline business processes and gather functional and technical system specifications.
  • Strong communication abilities, a passion for technology and ongoing learning, and a knack for asking insightful questions to address the right challenges.
  • A proven track record of success in cross-functional teams, with experience in product development using agile methodologies (including pair programming, stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprints).
  • A foundational understanding of object-oriented programming, experience with relational databases and database design/data modeling, along with SQL skills (including query writing, joins, views, etc.).
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies (test-driven development, automated testing within a continuous integration framework); experience with API integrations such as REST and SOAP, JDBC connections, and web services; and knowledge of cloud services like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Analytics, Machine Learning, Google Cloud, Application Integration, Database, Developer Tools, Management & Governance, and Elastic Containers (preferred).

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for candidates considered for Public Sector roles.
  • A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in software development or technical consulting.
  • A B.S./B.A. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually to support client engagements.
  • A government-sponsored clearance at the Secret level and readiness to work in a secure environment.
