Scientific Information Specialist

CAS, a leading provider of scientific information solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Information Scientist-Regulatory Chemist to join our Content Operations Team. Located in our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio, this role will play a critical part in supporting CAS Registry Services and building our world-class collection of scientific data.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze chemical substance data, including structures, nomenclature, and processes, to determine and assign CAS Registry Numbers.
- Collect, organize, and review substance information, chemical legislation, and relevant scientific data.
- Apply scientific expertise, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities to support CAS functions, including scientific consulting services.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field with successful completion of organic chemistry coursework.
- Excellent scientific comprehension, written, and verbal communication skills to communicate complex chemical substance identity concepts.
- Experience in customer communications, verbal and written.
- Strong learning agility, including the ability to quickly learn and apply complex scientific concepts and policies and technology tools.
- Solutions-focused, continuous improvement, and growth mindset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and collaboration software.
