This position is responsible for ensuring college compliance with federal, state, and private foundation regulations and policies. The Grants Compliance Specialist will oversee pre- and post-award processes to ensure federal, state, and private foundation contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide guidance to grant recipients to ensure college compliance with federal, state, and private grant requirements.
- Review grant applications and reports, and forward them to the Executive Vice President for review and approval.
- Oversee the development, implementation, evaluation, and close-out of federal, state, and private foundation grants.
- Collaborate with the Grant Accounting office.
- Work closely with other departments, including grants development, grant accounting, finance, and project staff, on project deliverables to ensure accurate program outcomes, program requirements, and financial reporting.
- Work with program staff to develop and maintain grant awards and agreements.
- Partner with staff to improve overall grant data collection and reporting systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the organization-wide grants database.
- Ensure compliance with the submission of programmatic and financial post-award reports and closeout of grants in government online portals/systems.
- Interpret applicable regulations and provide training and technical support to project staff in grants management and compliance.
- Support the capacity building of managers and others involved in grant management and implementation.
- Identify and anticipate issues and proactively contribute to solutions.
- Prepare monthly status reports of grant activities, program exceptions, and recommendations for the leadership team and oversight team.
- Actively participate in team meetings, workgroups, and organization-wide initiatives.
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, accounting, public administration, or related fields.
- Minimum of two to three years of experience with government grants administration, budgets, contracts, and/or compliance.
