Key Responsibilities

  • Processes payments and prepares cash for deposits, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company procedures.
  • Refers patients to financial counselors for clarification or discussion of account and/or payment terms, within the guidelines of our collections policy.
  • Maintains and follows office scheduling policies, ensuring timely and effective scheduling of patient appointments.
  • Answers telephone calls, screens messages, and provides information to patients and visitors, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
  • Types correspondence as directed, maintaining accurate and professional records.
  • Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information, ensuring a secure and confidential environment.
  • Maintains work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner, adhering to our high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Attends meetings as required, participating in discussions and contributing to the development of our team.
  • Fulfills all responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Christus Health Mission and Code of Ethics, upholding our values of compassion, respect, and excellence.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in computer software and hardware, including word processing and medical records documentation.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • One year of work experience in a medical office setting preferred.
