Overview:


The Head of Technology Asset Management Strategy is tasked with the comprehensive oversight of all hardware, software, and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) assets across Fairview Health Services.

This position focuses on direct management and operational execution to guarantee asset efficiency, adherence to financial and regulatory standards, and alignment with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will spearhead initiatives aimed at cost reduction, improved user productivity, and expedited technology deployment. They will develop and implement specific projects centered on timely outcomes for optimization and cost-saving strategies related to their asset portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

Asset Management Accountability:

Direct the hands-on management and supervision of the technology asset lifecycle across all Fairview locations, encompassing procurement, maintenance, and disposal of technology assets.

Facilitate the success of various solutions by collaborating with Vendor Management, Supply Chain, and other interconnected teams to ensure the implementation of standardized processes and tools.

Propel adoption in areas such as Software intake rationalization and optimization.

Policy and Compliance Implementation:

Formulate and enforce policies that guarantee compliance with industry standards and legal obligations, employing practical strategies for effective asset management.


Financial Management:

Develop and execute financial strategies aimed at minimizing costs associated with technology assets, enhancing service delivery, and boosting user satisfaction.

This includes establishing baselines, providing proactive insights through technology refresh cycles, delivering predictive analytics, and managing indirect costs such as Digital Experience (DEX), efficiency, and productivity.


Technology Deployment Management:

Optimize the deployment process to ensure that technology assets are efficiently introduced, improving operational effectiveness and fulfilling organizational requirements.

Assess and recommend modern asset deployment strategies and plans.

Asset Tracking and CMDB Oversight:
Establish protocols for all data feeds into the CMDB and ensure key considerations for data quality.

Supervise the CMDB to guarantee accurate and timely data capture of all asset information, facilitating effective asset management and decision-making processes.

Manage the selection, implementation, and maintenance of Hardware and Software Asset Management technologies.

Field Services & Project Coordination:
This division ensures comprehensive onsite service and support across all Fairview facilities. The team addresses immediate operational needs, including break-fix solutions, service requests, and other essential activities for seamless operations.

Moreover, the project support team manages add/move/change requests, effectively representing multiple IT teams to coordinate and fulfill the dynamic needs of our healthcare facilities.


Performance Metrics and Reporting:
Establish and monitor key performance indicators to effectively track asset utilization, cost-efficiency, and overall asset management performance. Utilize and create dashboards for each discipline in a consistent format.

Vendor and Contract Oversight:

Assess, approve, and review contracts with technology vendors and service providers, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and hands-on management requirements.


Team Leadership and Development:

Lead a dedicated asset management team, promoting their growth and establishing clear objectives to align with hands-on asset management goals.

Oversee recruitment, goal setting, team development, and all other aspects of employee management. This role will also involve direct or indirect oversight of non-employee teams.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate closely with department heads and senior management to ensure that asset management strategies support broader business objectives, providing hands-on updates and recommendations.

Act as the change agent for the Enterprise Asset Management discipline.

Risk Management and Resolution:
Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with technology assets, addressing performance issues through direct involvement and prompt resolution.

Qualifications:
Required

Education

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training

Experience

12+ years' experience within Information Technology

5+ years of leadership experience with increasing levels of accountability

Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills

Proven experience delivering technology projects and services, with excellent customer quality, cost, and outcome measures

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills

Ability to work with a range of technical staff, architects, operational, and business partners to develop joint solutions

Strong project management skills

Ability to facilitate problem-solving among groups with varying needs and priorities

Exceptional understanding of ITIL frameworks and lean principles

Excellent analytical skills

Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
