Job Title: Head of Alternative Assets

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our alternative assets team. As Head of Alternative Assets, you will be responsible for sourcing, due diligence, and execution of new investment opportunities, as well as monitoring of in-force alternative asset strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop new relationships with asset managers and fund managers across private and alternative debt strategies to fulfill growth and income goals consistent with asset allocation targets.
  • Lead and coordinate comprehensive due diligence and document review for new strategies, collaborating with expert teams across accounting, tax, legal, risk, and operations functions.
  • Conduct deep-dives and periodic reviews of alternatives portfolio to assess performance, changes in risk profile, collateral composition, and macro/regulatory trends.
  • Oversee asset manager selection and performance monitoring across relevant KPIs, with a focus on yield-enhancing strategies.
  • Coach and mentor junior professionals on the team.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience at an insurance company, bank, or asset manager with a focus on private debt and alternative assets in a client-facing capacity.
  • Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to tell stories with market and portfolio data.
  • Investment systems experience for alternative assets modeling, including Excel, Bloomberg, Aladdin, and eFront.
  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related technical field.
