Assistant Manager Job Description

The Assistant Manager is a key role that provides essential support to the management team in all aspects of property operations. This dynamic position requires a passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to exceeding resident expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the community, ensuring a high level of resident satisfaction and community appearance.
  • Lead rent collection efforts, including delinquent resident management and eviction procedures.
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting tasks.
  • Oversee renewal processes, including setting renewal rates, creating and delivering renewal notices, and reviewing lease renewals.
  • Review and maintain resident files, handle billing questions, and process move-outs, notices, and lease cancellations.
  • Ensure all required permits and licenses are current and up-to-date.
  • Process administrative tasks, including forms, reports, and maintenance requests.
  • Inspect the community daily to ensure it meets Knightvest's established standards.
  • Assist with leasing activities, including phone inquiries and showing the community to prospective residents.
  • Handle resident concerns and maintain a positive customer service attitude.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum one year of residential leasing, sales, and/or management experience.
  • Understanding of financial statements and accounting information.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Superior customer service skills, including managing difficult tenants and situations.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local fair housing laws and provisions.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
