Physician - Urgency Care Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced Urgency Care Department at Mankato Clinic, a well-established multi-specialty group practice with over 100 years of experience. The department operates Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. with no call or hospital privileges required.

  • Minimum staffing includes 5 providers and 10 nurses.
  • 6 Emergency Department style rooms and 10 exam rooms are available.
  • Average 20-25 patients per 12-hour shift.
  • Responsibilities include seeing acute illnesses, minor injuries, and work comp cases.
  • On-site Infusion Therapy, Sports Medicine, Lab, and Diagnostic Imaging services are available.
  • Alterra touchworks EMR is used.

Urgency Care Physicians work 60 to 72 scheduled hours every two weeks, with 12-hour shifts and every 4th weekend. The schedule is provided 60 days in advance, and additional days can be signed up for. This opportunity offers a variety of responsibilities centered on patient care and the desire to work in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of medical practices, dedication to patient satisfaction, and the ability to work effectively with advanced practice providers and staff are essential. Effective interpersonal skills are necessary for providing patient/family instruction and collaboration with health team members. The ideal candidate will have two years prior experience in Family Practice, Urgent Care, or Emergency Department Medicine.
