Patient Care Specialist Opportunity

Mankato Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to care for patients with compassion, empathy, and respect. As a patient care specialist, you will assist our physicians and providers with patient visits, greeting, rooming, and educating patients. You will also set up for exams and procedures, take vital signs, and document symptoms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist providers and departments by maintaining an efficient daily operation, following a daily schedule, and communicating updates as needed.
  • Perform core nursing functions as needed for the department.
  • Document patient data in the Electronic Health Record system, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, timeliness, and relevance to the patient's care.
  • Administer medications and/or immunizations in correct dosages as ordered, using the 8 Rights of Medication Administration, and distribute appropriate educational materials.
  • Observe patients for reactions, chart, and charge appropriately.
  • Demonstrate effective oral, keyboarding, and written communication skills.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Current LPN license by applicable state requirements, or a degree or diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or a certification from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current CPR certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to utilize a computer for daily work.
  • Patient-centered, accountability, teamwork, integrity, excellence.

Preferred:
  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA) or registration (RMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
