Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our inpatient psychiatry team as a supplemental provider. This role will involve covering vacations, CME, and leave of absences for our team members, ensuring seamless care for our patients.
The ideal candidate will have strengths in pharmacological and nonpharmacological management of psychiatric conditions, as well as excellent patient interviewing and history-taking skills. Strong communication skills for care coordination are also essential.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with covering inpatient units in Albert Lea, MN, and Mankato, MN, either virtually or in person or in a hybrid fashion.
- Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting, utilizing expertise in pharmacological and nonpharmacological management of psychiatric conditions.
- Collaborate with inpatient psychiatrists and other NP/PAs to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner:
- Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current Minnesota RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.
- Doctorate preferred. Strongly prefer PMHNP-BC.
- Physician Assistant:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and licensure as a PA by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
- Strongly prefer CAQ in psychiatry.
- Must be eligible for DEA registration and billing privileges.
- BLS certification required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Required: 2 years of experience as a Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider with at least 1 year in-patient Behavioral Health direct patient care.
