Amergis Healthcare Staffing is in search of a dedicated Educational Support Specialist. This role involves providing assistance to students who require instructional and behavioral support under the guidance of the special education department or designated supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement IEP goals across various subjects, including mathematics, literacy, speech, and social skills, either individually or as part of a classroom team.
  • Support teacher-led educational activities, which may include lesson planning, worksheets, reinforcement strategies, small group instruction, and hands-on assistance.
  • Assist students in mainstream classrooms as needed.
  • Relay important information to educators regarding student progress and needs.
  • Supervise students during breaks and lunch, as well as during community outings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning all student-related matters, including communications with parents, unless directed otherwise by certified staff.
  • Contribute to the implementation of specialized programs designed by related service professionals such as Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Support students in developing self-sufficiency through personal care tasks, including hygiene and dressing routines.
  • May assist in managing student behavior as directed by the teacher or other educational professionals.
  • Help educators with administrative tasks, including preparing instructional materials, organizing the classroom, and grading assignments.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess an Associate's degree or higher.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is preferred.
  • Successful completion of background checks and onboarding procedures is required.
  • Must comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential.
  • Current certification as required by state or client standards.
